THE ALBANY CLUB WINE PROGRAM

As an Albany Club member you have access to a variety of events and opportunities to increase your knowledge and enjoyment of wines.  We offer Winemakers Dinners and a monthly Wine Appreciation Luncheon and a variety of fun and educational tastings of champagne, wines, spirits and beers.

You can also take advantage of private wine purchases.  Twice a year, the Club privately imports wine for our members.  One order is typically from the old world and one from the new world.  The selection changes regularly to offer a great variety of wines not available at the LCBO.

We are pleased to organize tastings or pairing dinners for your friends, family or business.

WINE VALUE PROPOSITION
The Albany Club members enjoy the benefit of one of the best wine values in the city.  We add only a very low fixed mark up on the cost for wines to a value of up to $80, and a very reasonable mark up on wines from $80 to $150.  In comparison, the typical mark up at most restaurants and hotels is at least double the price of the wine.

WINE SOCIETY
As a member of The Albany Club, you can also join the Wine Society to enjoy even more benefits, such as: special pricing on most wine events, exclusive wine purchases and our email wine letter.  You can also bring your wine in (BYOB) and we will serve it for a reduce corkage fee of only $10.

THE WINE APPRECIATION LUNCHEON SERIES
Members who enjoy great wines in good company are invited to join our monthly Wine Appreciation Luncheon group. It provides members with an opportunity to taste wines of the world that are paired to great food.

For better more than thirty years, Albany Club members have met on the last Friday of each month to savor foods and wines of the world. Unlike other wine groups the emphasis is not upon impressing one another with our knowledge, but rather learning about and tasting wines as they are married with different foods. Members volunteer to organize the menu, select wines, and share their ideas and experiences. The camaraderie that results from this format has encouraged experimentation with different themes. Members are fortunate to be able to work with the excellent staff of the Club who can translate ideas or exotic recipes into truly flavourful and always excellent meals. The enthusiasm that results from these collaborations has given us many memorable luncheons.
